SouthTown Watersports Charlotte: Built in the Wakeboarding Community
SouthTown Watersports was born out of the wakeboarding community in 2001 when a group of passionate riders started a youth-focused wakeboarding camp and ministry. What began with personal boats and pooled gear quickly grew as more people rallied around the mission to create unforgettable days on the water and positively impact the next generation.
As the camps expanded, industry leaders who believed in the vision stepped in to support the movement. Early sponsorships from Skiers Choice, the manufacturer of Supra and Moomba, along with Hyperlite Wakeboards, Jet Pilot life jackets, and Cobian helped fuel the growth and deepen SouthTown’s connection to the broader wake scene.
In 2004, that momentum turned into the “Fire in the Core” tour. This was an ambitious run through 26 cities from Charlotte to Portland with a Supra boat and wrapped RV. The goal was sharing the message, building community, and bringing wakeboarding culture to new places.
That same passion naturally evolved into a dealership in 2009 when SouthTown became the official Supra and Moomba dealer in the Charlotte area. More than 15 years later, we have come full circle. We are still rooted in the same core vision and are now able to sponsor a team of riders each year while serving families and boaters across the Carolinas.
